Easter EGG-stravaganza

These precious babies spent the day making memories and taking names. There were so many awesome events in Charlotte this weekend that we didn't know which one to choose. However, we made the best decision by keeping it simple and close to home. I am quickly discovering that convenience is king in terms of kids' events. The less drive time and smaller crowds are definitely top of the priority list for us these days.

We headed to the Tega Cay fire department. It is about ten minutes from our house and has an awesome park right behind it. They served a delicious pancake breakfast that helped fund the local Lions Club.  The fire department even had their trucks open for the kids to explore. This seriously made Brady's day. One of his few two word phrases includes "big truck". We were forever hearing that line alllllllll day!  Afterwards we headed to the park. It really does amaze me how grown Brady looks on a playground. Where did baby Brady gooooo!?

Lastly, the kids participated in the Easter egg hunt. Little did we know that most parents take this hunt extremely serious. I was under the impression this was FOR THE KIDS. But little did I know that egg hunts are an olympic sport. I stood back and watched multiple parents take eggs right from around Brady and throw them in their toddler's buckets. Really parents?! This is for the TODDLERS. So what if they go home with only four eggs. I doubt anyone is handing out a college scholarship for your kid having the most eggs. Stand back and let the little guys figure it out. (Just one mom's opinion...)
Rant. Over.

Look at the focus on that face though. This kid has figured out what candy is. And boy is he going to get all the candy he can! I definitely try to keep our meals clean and healthy, but I am not gonna say no to a kid that has a sweet tooth just like his mama. (Let's just hope his metabolism is like mama's to!) It has been so much fun experiencing childhood through the eyes of Brady. It brings back so many fun memories I had growing up. So even though I am sad to see my precious baby turn into a little boy, I can't wait to watch that shine in his eyes as he experiences new things in each new day.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL OF OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY!
