Baby Blake's "Sprinkle"

There has always been this nagging thought in the back of my head as to whether or not accept a shower for a second baby. So many people have mentioned that they would never do a second shower after having the first so I just assumed having even a small get together was out of the question. Well my mom and sister just wouldn't have that. They both insisted on fully showering this little girl with love.

We agreed to keep it simple in terms of a registry. We have all the BIG gear, but having a different gender from your first (especially a girl!) opens up doors to all kinds of different colors and styles that are just too precious to resist. The invite stated that we just needed the basic: diapers, wipes, and maybe some clothes. Well to say this little girl has more clothes than any of us know what to do with is a complete understatement. Tutus, bows, and shoes... oh my!

We agreed to have the shower at my house in order to keep it simple. The decorations and spread of food was everything a nine month pregnant woman could ask for. My mother in law helped with the main dishes. The pink lemonade and sherbet punch added a sweet pink touch. The candy bar was absolutely gorgeous as well! Let's just say I have had way more chocolate covered pretzels the last few days than I care to admit at this point in my pregnancy. My mom went above and beyond so many amazing details that just screamed "baby girl Anderson!"

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the decorations. It was exactly my taste and full of small details that I couldn't help but appreciate. My sister recently made a floral mobile for Blakely's nursery. I have talked about it so much that she decided to do a similar styled decoration with her first name initial. That "B" looked amazing against the ship-lap. If if wasn't pink and the wrong initial for our last name I might just have convinced Brian to let me keep it up.

I seriously have never felt so much love in one room. Blakely and I are so fortunate to have so many AMAZING women in our lives. She has some of the best role models to look up to. One thing I know for certain is that I can teach my daughter what to look for in a solid group of girlfriends. After having so many amazing female mentors and friends in my life I can only pray she gets to have the same in hers as she grows and matures. A special thanks to my mama for making this shower one of the most memorable days for me. It was everything I could have imagined. And "thank you" to all these amazing mamas and women that came out to celebrate Miss. Blakely Elise! You made our day so incredibly special!
