16 Weeks (The Week of the Pop)

16 Weeks

How far along: 16 Weeks (Baby A is approximately 4 inches long and weighs almost 2.5 ounces!)
Gender: Still anxiously waiting for our apt. in January. The best part is we are planning a co-reveal with one of our dearest friends! So excited!
Weight gain: 1 lb. I am up from 119 to 123 lb. However, I am sure it is going to be a whole lot more since I ate like it was going out of style yesterday. Thus, the massive bump that is newly present.
Maternity clothes: Just my maternity leggings.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In. It is not showing any signs of popping out anytime soon either.
Sleep: Wonderfully.
Best moment this week: Having a nice long break from work. I sure do love those kiddos, but even us teachers need a break sometimes.
Worst moment this week: I can definitely feel the hormones kicking in. I have always been a pretty level headed individual; however, I feel like I am losing it over the stupidest stuff lately. First, I read a good friend's blog. It was a letter to her soon-to-be three year old daughter and I seriously bawled for 10 minutes. Also, road rage was never an issue for me before, but man-oh-man are drivers pissing me off lately.
Miss anything: Sleeping without needing to pee halfway through the night.
Movement: None yet. I hear this is normal with the first pregnancy though.
Cravings: Anything fresh and crunchy. Fruits and veggies have been on the top of my shopping list.
Queasy or sick: Nope.
Looking forward to: My first baby shower is this weekend. I know it seems way early, but it will be the only time I will be in Connecticut to see Brian's family. I can't wait to see all of our friends and family! So exciting.

Hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

15 Weeks

How far along: 15 Weeks. I do apologize for skipping so many weeks. I WILL be more consistent now that I have the blog up and running.
Gender:  We will find out at our next apt. in January.  Still feeling like its a boy though.
Weight gain: 2 lbs in the last few weeks.  I am up to 122.
Maternity clothes: Just got my first pair of maternity leggings and OH MY GRACIOUS! I will be wearing these even after I am done being pregnant.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Still fantastic
Best moment this week:  Getting to spend time in my hometown with family!
Worst moment this week: I ate way TOO much this week! eeeeeekkkkk!
Miss anything: Really missing all those yummy holiday drinks with the grownup juice in it!
Movement: None yet, but I am really hoping it will be soon!
Cravings: Nothing particular
Queasy or sick: Nope. I have stopped taking the Zofran and have still felt great without it.
Looking forward to: Flying to Connecticut at the end of the week to visit Brian's family.

The First Trimester

After finding out that I was pregnant I was anxious about all of those awful pregnancy symptoms that many mamas experience in the first trimester. During my first OB visit at 8 weeks my doctor prescribed me Zofran. I took one pill (that dissolves) first thing in the morning. I never once got sick or even felt nauseous.  This was a huge blessing as trying to keep up with 20+ fifth graders is hard enough. The first trimester was truly a breeze.  I am praying that the rest of the pregnancy stays as simple as it has been so far!

Without further of due....
12 Weeks

How far along: In this picture 12 weeks, but I am quickly approaching the 16 weeks mark. (Will complete an update post soon.)
Gender: We don't know yet.  However, I am pretty positive it is a boy.
Weight gain: 1 lb. so far. Pre pregnancy weight was 119.
Maternity clothes: None, but I do love wearing leggings. It's like wearing acceptable pjs out and about.
Stretch marks: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Sleep: Like a rock
Best moment this week: Hearing the sweet baby's heart beat and hearing that he/she is healthy.
Worst moment this week: None
Miss anything: ALCOHOL! What I wouldn't give for a good glass of Merlot or a 7&7.
Movement: None yet.
Cravings: I am loving cereal and chocolate milk.
Queasy or sick: Nope. Gotta love this Zofran.
Looking forward to: Traveling and seeing all of our family for Christmas.

And the reason for that growing bump is our growing baby...

Sharing the News

This sweet baby came as no surprise. We have been together for six years and now that both of our careers were up and running we felt that we were finally ready to add something special to our already wonderful relationship.

I had my IUD (best form of birth control EVER) taken out mid August. By the end of September I was looking at two pink lines! I was fully prepared to be patient and wait for our miracle, yet the Lord had other plans. It seemed that even though we discussed and planned and prepared it was still a surprise in a way. I couldn't wait to start sharing then news with family and friends... oh and my baby daddy.

I knew I wanted to do something special to tell Brian. I didn't want to do anything too big or flashy with the fear of potentially losing this little one and then having it be even harder to deal. At the same time I didn't want to just throw a pee stick at him and say, "congrats!".

I ended up getting a packaging box and filling it with pink and blue balloons and confetti. Thankfully when I arrived home from work we had a few boxes on the porch that had been delivered earlier that day.  I quickly peeled the label off one of them and glued into onto my box.  When Brian got back home I told him he had a package waiting for him.

As he opened the box, the look on his way face was one of confusion. He replied by telling me that we must have gotten someone else's package because he had no clue what this box was.  Finally, I had to spell it out. "WE ARE HAVING A BABY!" The look on his face was absolutely perfect.

Sadly, this is the only photo that I took.  I was so excited and caught up in the moment that I didn't think to click a few more.  Despite my lack of photography skills, the moment was absolutely perfect.  Brian's reaction truly made my heart overflow with love for this child and for our marriage.

Here's to our lives being forever changed!

Introducing....

That's right! We are expecting our first precious little one. Expected arrival is June 2014.

Here it is! I have finally got around to getting this blog up and running.  I have always said that when we decide to have a little one that I would document as much as I could to save as a virtual baby book.  We also have so many family and friends that are far away.  What better way to share this exciting time with the ones we care most about.

Between being a teacher, friend, wife, and oh, PREGNANT life sometimes gets the best of me. Okay, you got me! More like my warm bed gets the best of me! However, I am going to try my very best to keep this blog updated as possible.

Thank you for taking the time to visit and share in such an exciting time in our lives.
